This book was that bad, in my opinion. This is my first book by this author, and I don't know if this is how she (he?) usually writes, but I'm not a fan at all. The sentence structure was short and choppy in quite a few parts throughout the book, there is more telling than showing, and not enough reasoning behind the actions of some of the characters. Those were just some of the issues I had with the writing and story-telling abilities from this author. Oh, and don't get me started on the heroine.

After reading the summary, I was prepared for a heroine with a strong character. What I was got was an annoying, irritating, crying, whiny, do-the-opposite-of-what-will-keep-you-safe idiot. And no matter how hot and bad ass the hero was, all I could think was "and you're in love with her?" *scratching my head in confusion* Soooo.... he didn't do it for me either. She's not the worst heroine I've read *cough~Kiera~cough* but she was grating on my nerves. I like to read books in one sitting, so I don't DNF a lot of books, but this was close to ending up on my short list of DNFs.
